The holidays are here and you'll quickly find lights, tinsel, and Christmas decor everywhere you turn. Have you started your holiday decorating yet? Whether you've already decked the halls or you're starting with a clean slate, we're here to help you turn some attention to your windows to get into the holiday spirit.

Simply put, windows are beautiful and ornate all on their own. They bring natural light into your home and give a great view of the snowy landscape. However, they can look even more beautiful with some of these top festive window decor tips.

1. Christmas Snow Decor

Snow is part of the experience of Christmas, and you can add your very own snow decor for a festive twist. There are several ways to bring this idea to reality, and you can choose the DIY version or the store-bought version. Consider crafting snowflakes from construction paper and applying glitter to mimic sparkling snow. You can hang these snowflakes from fishing line or even yarn.

If you'd rather take the store-bought approach, you can hang decorative snowflakes from window muntins or you can even use suction cups. You can also consider red snowflakes for an extra festive look.

2. Deck the Halls with Window Jewelry

Have you heard of window jewelry? If not, it can make quite the statement on your windows this holiday season. You can find great window jewelry at craft stores and even big box stores. Large beaded garland will steal the show by draping it over your curtain rod. You can also add a dash of drama with sparkling Christmas bulbs to hang from the garland.

3. Create Custom Swag

To take your holiday to the next level, consider creating custom swag with popular holiday decor items and florist wire. For example, you can group together a few bells with sprigs of evergreen, berries, and pinecones. Tie the assortment together with florist wire and hang them from a temporary adhesive hook on your window frame.

4. Create a Winter Wonderland on your Bay Window

Do you have a bay window? If so, this is the perfect opportunity to add some Christmas cheer by creating a winter wonderland right in your own home. If you collect items that create a Christmas village scene, this is the perfect opportunity to display your prized possession front-and-center. Add glittery cotton snow and lights for an extra whimsical touch.

5. Don't Forget Your Outdoor Window Decor

While these are a few festive ideas for the inside of your home, you don't want to forget the exterior. This is a great time to spruce up your window box if you have one add an evergreen swag that already comes equipped with berries, lights, and pinecones. You'll add a beautiful glow and make your home feel ready for the holidays.
